The No Surprises Act, effective January 1, 2022, aims to enhance price transparency in healthcare and minimize the chances of patients receiving unexpected medical bills. It mandates healthcare providers to supply clients or their insurers with a "good faith estimate" (GFE) of costs for scheduled services or upon request before the services are rendered. Additionally, the Act addresses surprise bills from out-of-network providers by ensuring they charge no more than the in-network cost-sharing amount and prohibiting balance billing without prior notice and consent from the patient. This legislation is designed to protect patients from unexpected financial burdens in their healthcare experiences.

At Firelight Counseling PLLC, our fee is $175 for a fifty-minute session. For sessions that are longer or shorter than fifty minutes, we will prorate the fee based on the same rate of $175 per fifty-minute session. We strive to provide flexible and accessible counseling services to meet your needs.
